Half way over the hill....

Wednesday morning, my birthday, Griffin woke me up with my birthday present.  I asked for a watch but he wanted to surprise me with something different b\c he gave me a watch 2 years ago. A TIFFANYS bracelet was waiting for me on our coffee table!!  My husband is an amazing & thoughful gift giver.  He said, "All of my teachers had nice bracelets so since you are a teacher I thought you needed one too!"

Emily surprised me by coming up to school & bringing me flowers, cupcakes for my kiddos, & decorating my promethean board.  I have the best sister EVER!

One of my besties at school brought me balloons, a pan of rice crispy treats, & made me the awesome hat that the kinder kids wear on their birthday.

That evening Griffin took me, Alyson, & Emily to dinner at Copper Creek.  We had plans of going to get frozen yogurt after but were sadly way too full!:(

I am so blessed with an amazing family & friends.
THANK YOU for all of the calls, texts, cards, & gifts!!

Diploma time!!

This past week we celebrated Griffin's graduation.  I can not express how extremely proud of him I am.  He has worked so hard for this, especially this last semester.  He has done an amazing job balancing a constant job, school, and a new family.  I am so happy God honored his hard work over the past years with a diploma & we are both looking forward to God revealing his plans for his career! :)

Griff chose me to hood him.  I am so glad I got to share this experience with him!

My sweet Grandma made the long trip to Abilene.  I love her so much & we were both excited to have her there. Griff's grandparents got to watch it through livestream!

My cousin Garrett also graduated & we had a big,fun family bbq after graduation.
Thank you to all of our friends & family that traveled to Abilene for the BIG day!  We had such a fun time and love all of you!

Holt's FIRST Birthday!

Griffin & I went to Dallas this past weekend to celebrate our nephew Holt's 1st birthday!  This past year has flown by & we have both had so much fun watching him grow and change into a precious little boy.  LeighAnn and Jason did a GREAT job of putting together a Monster theme.  Laura & I helped them set up saturday morninog and everything was so cute & perfect for a 1st birthday.  Holt was blessed with lots of family, friends, & presents.  Hope you enjoy some pictures of his big day!:)

PTL!

We have been doing a lot of praising the Lord around here lately.  God is good and we have seen so many of his blessings and grace in our lives these last couple of weeks.

My amazingly talented sister, Emily, turned 21 on March 27th.  I am praising the Lord for allowing me & Em to live in the same town & for blessing us with a strong friendship.  While my mom is feeling like she is losing her baby, I know Em is PTL she is finally 21 and a legal adult. YIKES!

Emily's friends had a party for her at her house so I made her favorite treat, Strawberry cupcakes, for the party animals.  She also loves owls so I found the cute owl printables & created the 21 toppers myself.

Two weeks ago a lady I teach with was looking for a home for this precious little guy.  He found a loving home at Emily's house.  We love this little Ace puppy.

Two weekends ago Griff's boss took us fishing at his lease.  Griff was doing some major PTL when this guy showed up on his hook!

Lastly, my dad, who is the rock of our family & my hero in so many ways had a scare with cancer last week.  He had a major test run last Tuesday to test for prostate cancer.  Thankfully, by the grace of God, his results came back benign.

One of my good friends at school texted me Thrusday night & said " I prayed against there being generational cancer in the Blacklock family line and continuing down to the new Hess line with the authority and in the name of Jesus who by his name we are healed and made whole!"

God answers prayers!:)

What are you praising the Lord for lately?

Honeymoon!

As most of you know, Griffin and I had to post pone our honeymoon due to his passport not arriving in time.  Apparently they are randomly flagging 15% of passport applications that come through & he was one of the lucky ones. We were both actually really glad it worked out this way.  We were both in need of a nice vacation & this trip couldn't of been more perfect.

We went to an all inclusive resort in Playa Mujeres Mexico (30 min from Cancun).  The people were all extremely nice, the beaches & pool were beautiful, and we felt very spoiled.  We did A LOT of eating alllll day long, laying by the beach, and going to shows at night.  A BIG thank you to Colleen, Griffin's mom, for giving us this trip.  We both had such a great, relaxing time.

I hope you had a restful & happy Spring break!  For all of you teachers, 9 more weeks to go.
WE CAN DO IT!

Happy Spring,
Amy
